Well, the final quarter of the year has started with the battle of Chinese mid-range flagships! Last week we got YunOS powered Meizu Blue Charm Metal with 2gb ram and a fingerprint sensor and now, we have the successor of Letv’s famous Le 1- the Le 1s.
Letv is a common name in China as a streaming service provider but earlier this year they started manufacturing smartphones. Their three first generation smartphones- Letv Le1 (x600), Le1 Pro (x800) and Le Max (x900) actually created a lot of vibes in the Chinese online community. The reason you may not have heard of the smartphones before may be that they were never released outside China though there is a possibility that Letv is coming to USA soon.
Letv Le 1s is not so much different than its predecessor if you are wondering. Like the Le 1, Le 1s is also powered with the MediaTek Helio X10 processor only this time you are getting a higher clock speed of 2.2GHz as Letv is using the turbo version (6795T) of the processor. GPU is the same PowerVR G6200 and 3GB LPDDR3 RAM and 32 GB of internal storage are there in Le 1s. Unfortunately, there is no memory card slot in this phone unlike the Meizu Blue Charm Metal and Xiaomi Redmi note 2.
The screen is the same 5.5-inch 1920 x 1080p display upfront but even smaller bezels this time round. On the back, the Le 1s has a fingerprint sensor which Letv claims can recognize your fingerprint in just 0.15 seconds. The fingerprint sensor has a mirrored finish which sits right above the Letv logo on the back.
On the camera department, there is a 13 megapixel camera in the back which supports PDAF technology. According to Letv, this camera is faster than the rear camera of the iPhone 6s as the embedded PDAF system can focus in just 0.09 seconds. The camera can also record 4K videos and support slow motion recording (720P @ 120fps; 1080P @ 60fps). There is a 5 megapixel camera in the front.
Letv 1s is equipped with eUI 5.5 based on Android Lollipop. There is a 3000mAh battery which supports fast charging. A USB 2.0 Type-C port is present in the bottom. The smartphone supports dual SIM.
Letv Le 1s will cost just 1099 Yuan ($172) in China, which sounds like a great deal and will be a tough compete against the same priced Meizu Blue Charm Metal which has 2GB RAM and 16 GB memory (32 GB version of Meizu metal costs 1299 Yuan or around $200). Naturally, the reseller prices will be a bit higher for international buyers.
So what do you think about Letv Le 1s?
